Title |
Identify Drug Co-target to Fight Drug Resistance Based on a Random Walk Model
|
Abstract |
We propose a heuristic search algorithm in order to extract drug
response pathways from protein-protein interaction networks and
microarray data and used a random walk model to identify the potential
co-target for effective antibacterial drugs. In particular, we chose
one of the killer infectious diseases, Mycobacterium tuberculosis
(Mtb) as our test bed. Our approach applied A* heuristic search
algorithm in order to extract pathways and networks from its
protein-protein interaction database for the drug resistance and then
a random walk is conducted over the networks to further identify for
effective antibacterial drugs. Our results are consistent with the
recent experimental results.
