The Fourth International Workshop on Bioinformatics and Systems
Biology was held in Kyoto from May 31 to June 3, 2004, as a part
of a collaborative program in bioinformatics involving three leading
research institutes: Boston University in the US, Humboldt University
Berlin in Germany and Kyoto University in Japan. With the rapid growth
of the fields of bioinformatics and systems biology, a research forum
is strongly required for graduate students and young researchers to
exchange new ideas and report recent progress. Such an experience
would provide a precious opportunity to encourage their continuing
research in these fields. This workshop brought students and
researchers together to present and discuss their research objectives,
approaches and results in bioinformatics.
